This is a special night dedicated to the community. We’ll have the stage open from 6-9PM for anyone that would like to share songs, stories, inspirations, dreams, etc… Let us know what SoulFood & Community means to you!

Unlike our monthly open mic night, this will be simple and stripped down, with limited hosting and sound board support. Keep it simple, but from the heart!

Limit sets to 10 – 15 minutes. Depending on turn out there may be an opportunity for multiple sets, but everyone gets a turn!

Deborah Crooks and Kwame Copeland w/Sue Quigley

California songwriter Deborah Crooks’s lyric driven and soul-wise music draws on folk, rock, Americana and the blues.  Compared to the likes of Lucinda Williams and Sheryl Crow, she’s recorded three full-length CDs, toured the North and Southwest, received national airplay, spoken on creativity at MacWorld and SXSW, and was named to Music Connection magazine’s 2012′s HOT 100 Live Unsigned Artists & Bands. Her latest CD “Little Bird,” produced by San Francisco jazz artist and musician Art Khu was released Nov. 5, 2013.

“…a more diverse take on Americana with a distinctly female tone, and quite charming.” — East Bay Express

For Sue Quigley becoming a songwriter was inevitable. Navigating feeling different in a small town the nuclear plains of Eastern Washington. Sue stole her sister’s guitar (abandoned for boys) and started writing songs at 13. In 2004 Sue decided to take the leap into pursing her music career on a more consistent basis while working full time as a High School Drug and Alcohol Counselor. A bass-playing neighbor and the ensuing band was serendipitous in creating the drive in making the 1st cd”Outside In” a reality. In addition, it was listed in 2005 as the “Best New Artist” on and streamed internationally. A cut from her 1st CD was featured at NXNE in Canada.

The 2nd CD”Perfect Chaos” was co-produced by Jon Ervie, (producer-Brandi Carlile)and was released in 2009. The album was in rotation nationally on college and AAA stations. In addition it was streamed around the world on stations in Italy,France,Germany and the Netherlands. The single “paper Tiger” was Runner- Up for Song of the Year 2010.

Sue has toured the West coast and performed in Dublin and Galway,Ireland. She has been featured on the main stage at the Bite of Seattle, Pride festival, Fremont Fair as well as the Hard Rock cafe,Tractor Tavern, Crocodile and High Dive here in Seattle.
