04.01.15-SoulFood-PRINT-01

So, you’ve done the yard work, walked the dog, washed the car, updated your Facebook profile, and now you just want to set with an iced coffee… maybe have someone else make you a nice sandwich… and listen to a few songs you’ve never heard before, played live by some local artists in an intimate setting. Well guess what. The music is free, and so is the ambiance and the air conditioning.

Join us every Sunday afternoon at 2:00 for “The Coffee Break Concert”, hosted by Lamar, with guest artists who have been invited to perform for your listening enjoyment.

The Heather Dale Band
HDB-B1

They’re back! This lively Celtic trio is a crowd favorite here at Soulfood… always ready to get everyone laughing, stomping, and singing along. Toronto-born singer Heather Dale (also known as “The Girl Who Never Stops Grinning”), her partner Ben Deschamps (aka “The Tall Fuzzy Guy With All The Instruments”) and local cello-wizard Betsy Tinney (aka “The Perfect Pizzicato Pixie”) will return to bring their delightful stories and songs to our stage. And for a special treat, they promise to debut some brand new songs from their current recording projects. Tell your friends — you won’t want to miss the fun!

Heather Dale is a Canadian recording artist with Celtic roots, whose original music embraces the power of myth and legend. Heather cheerfully disregards the typical limits for both folk singer-songwriters and Celtic balladeers, and fuses the folk tradition with a healthy mix of modern blues, jazz, folk-rock and world music influences. Her original music “is powerful stuff… with a depth and resonance rooted in its mythic sources” (Vancouver Sun), and is reminiscent of Loreena McKennitt, Sarah McLachlan, and Steeleye Span. She tours full-time with her partner Ben Deschamps and other members of The Heather Dale Band.
