Alec Shaw is a musician/producer based in Seattle Washington. Through discovering a passion for guitar in the 4th grade he soon picked up singing and songwriting which led him to a scholarship to Berklee School of Music where he attended a summer course. After returning in fall of 2015 he set to compose his debut album “Car Town” that was released in summer of 2016.
Experimenting with different styles on the album stemming from various highly contrasted influences Alec would still stay centered on a retro influenced alt rock sound. Alec wrote his first full song at 16 years old with Suzannah Fiskum his writing partner. Alec and Suzannah’s romantic involvement adds a certain charm to their duets and live performance that plays off of their, what has been described as a “Johnny and June” love story.
“Car Town” was a 9 track home recorded studio album that was followed up by a 14 track studio album featuring 25 local musicians throughout. Through the second album Alec began to solidify the “brass” sound as a staple to his sound, which is also feature on the first album with locally renowned trombonist Besserat Teffase. Alec has played and worked with artist such as Tim Reynolds, JP Tally (Brandon Heath) Jared Buck and Blake Strickland (Kings Kallidascope), Jason Edwards, Justin Freisen, Nigel Tay, Marty Walsh (Supertramp) and many local artists in the Seattle music scene and Christian music scene.
Alec plays live shows with a group of 9 musicians and a trio for small venues.
