Sandi Fernandez is a singer songwriter currently based in Seattle, WA. Her powerful raw voice and catchy melodies deliver toe tapping grooves to her audiences. Influenced by folk music of the 60s, 90s alternative music, and modern indie music; her style is reminiscent of artists such as The Decemberists, Bright Eyes, and Neutral Milk Hotel.
She draws upon the deep connection with her family to write music that reflects the love and challenges that come from these formative relationships. Her music explores the pain of loss, the beauty of love, and the importance of home. She wraps it all up into a melody driven belting style of Americana music.
Washington raised and Seattle local Marjorie Nelch dazzles listeners in her self titled debut EP. Her vocal style combines rock ‘n’ roll roots with decades of classical training. For years she tried to fit inside the pop genre (because that’s what you’re supposed do as a female musician or so she believed) but did not. Instead she used her talent as a multi-instrumentalist to write songs for her voice. Songs that express everything from jagged raw emotion to intimate moments with a siren like voice that leaves the listener wanting more.
The EP’s multi-colored geometric diamond illustrates Marjorie’s journey to overcome self-doubt and take pride in her identity, a struggle all face as we are molded into diamonds.
